Anyone who is currently a registered student (regardless of country) is eligible to participate. If you are not a student, you can still attend, however there is lower chance you will be accepted, because as a student hackathon we need at least 85% of participants to be students.

Absolutely! Participation is free for all invited hackers. Moreover, we provide delicious food, interesting workshops, entertaining activities, and some swag during the event. And in case you arrive from abroad we might be able to reimburse your travel expenses if you: 1. ask for it in the application portal, 2. attend the hackathon, 3. submit a project, 4. show proof of expenses.

Yes, whole event and also presentations will be in English, thus you should be familiar with it, however we do not require any language certificate or specific language level.

The hackathon will happen in person, under the current Slovak regulations. Wearing a face mask is your own choice, however, we do recommend doing so for your and others’ safety.

There will be a dedicated sleeping room where no one will disturb you!

Definitely not. Hacking is a slang term for coding/ doing tech stuff. From wikipedia : The word “hackathon” is a blend of the words “hack” and “marathon”, where “hack” is used in the sense of exploratory programming, not its alternate meaning as a reference to breaching computer security.

Not necessarily, but we highly encourage you to create one before coming here. It is best if you already know the people who you will be working for 24 hours with. In case you can’t find anyone, feel free to apply and we will match you up with a team at the event.
